Stop Chasing Approval and Start Living True
You know what’s exhausting? Trying to please everyone. It’s a hopeless endeavor.
No matter how hard you try, there will always be someone who’s not vibing with you, and that’s okay. In fact, it’s a good thing, so don’t ever waste time worrying about the small-minded thoughts racing around in another person’s head.
There will be people who are threatened by your authenticity. Some people are just not going to like you, and that’s alright. Fuck ’em. Who has the time or energy to worry about winning over everyone on this planet?
Life’s too short for that bullshit.
One of the most devastating consequences of unresolved trauma is silence. You force yourself into nonexistence by keeping your mouth shut just to be accepted and liked.
Instead of worrying about what you should say and the opinions of others, focus on something far more important: earning the admiration of the right people. You know, those who matter and accept you for who you are.
Do you want to be a people-pleaser constantly seeking validation from everyone around you? Hell no! We all want to be authentic, unapologetic, and true to ourselves. We want to be the guy who doesn’t waste time trying to fit into other people’s molds because we’re too busy carving out our own path.
Now, think about the people who look up to you. Your wife, kids, friends, and future family are the ones whose opinions truly matter.
So, how do you become the kind of person that earns love and respect? Simple: be true to yourself and do what’s right, even if it’s not the popular choice. Stand up for your values, speak your truth, and hold your head high when others doubt you. It’s not always easy, and there will be times when staying true to yourself means ruffling some feathers or stepping on a few toes.
In order to realize our true self, we must be willing to live without being dependent upon the opinion of others. — Bruce Lee
That’s the price of freedom and greatness.
Legends aren’t made by playing it safe; they’re made by taking risks, standing firm in their convictions, and refusing to be anything less than their authentic selves.
Let go of the need to please everyone.
Embrace your uniqueness, own your truth, and watch as the right people start to gravitate towards you. Because at the end of the day, it’s not about how many people like you but how much you respect yourself. And trust me, that’s the kind of currency that will enrich your life in ways you never thought possible.
